God's Helping Hands of Mecosta County is a community coalition dedicated to helping the poor and the needy through emergency food services.

The food pantry is sustained by nine churches in eastern Mecosta County. With wide community participation in food drives and funding, the pantry served 804 households in 2009. There was a shift to smaller households, as working families moved away to find work, leaving the retired/seniors and disabled behind. Although the number of people served has dropped, the number of allotments leaving the pantry increased. The pantry serves a wide geographic area, from Big Rapids, Chippewa Lake, and Barryton to Blanchard, Lakeview, and Morley, and all areas in between. The pantry receives no federal or state funding. Donations are tax-deductible. We are a community taking care of our neighbors.
