Helping Hand

God's Helping Hands of Mecosta County is a community coalition dedicated to helping the poor and the needy through emergency food services.

The food pantry is sustained by nine churches in eastern Mecosta County. With wide community participation in food drives and funding, the pantry served 873 households in 2011. The Pantry serves a wide geographical area, impacting 26 communities. In 2011, the highest levels of need were Mecosta, Barryton, Remus, Big Rapids, Stanwood, Morley, and Rodney. All showed an increase, except Barryton and Big Rapids. We believe, other food providers in these two locales are stepping in to help fill their needs. The pantry receives no federal or state funding. Donations are tax-deductible. We are a community taking care of our neighbors.
